Welcome to my blog!!!

In this blog, I plan to inform my followers about all of the foods, medications and treatments that I have found helpful for treating and managing the symptoms of interstitial cystitis.  Patients who suffer from IC frequently suffer from IBS, Endometriosis, and Chronic Pelvic Pain as well.  I suffer from all of these, so some of my advice and information will overlap with managing these conditions.  I hope that my followers can find helpful information here.  Please feel free to comment and share your experiences as well.  Together, I feel we have a better chance of becoming functional.  Welcome!

  1. Hi!

I have a questionn about Uracyst. Are you in pain after the instillations?

    Thanks!

  2. No, not at all. One of the best things about Uracyst is that there are NO NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS which is incredible --- very different from DMSO. I feel that it works better if you hold it in for as long as possible (I usually try for at least 3 hrs) though the minimum is half an hour. Using some lidocaine before the instillation helps relieve any discomfort from the catheter. Please let me know if you try it and how it works for you --- treatment is generally once a week for six weeks and then more spread out thereafter. Good luck!
